And I did. I figured it out. I lost weight and I felt great. And then I got pregnant. I gained weight and felt miserable!!!!!!! I was not a happy pregnant person. I loved the thought of becoming a mom, but with all of the changes going on (moving, selling the house, etc.) I really could not deal. I gave myself a break and knew that once I had Parker I needed to focus on me again.
And I did. I figured it out. I fell in love with my child and my life. I figured out how to put someone else first, but still make time to focus on my health. We sold our house and started building. I felt like I could handle my emotions again. It's funny - about three months after having Parker I felt like my body and my emotions bounced back!

(I've lost 40 pounds since I started working on my health in 2010!)
So here it is - another year. I know exactly what I want to focus on in 2012. ORGANIZATION. These are a few pictures that popped up when I searched Pinterest for "organization".

Are you f&*@ing kidding me? My brain just does not comprehend this type of organization. I am not messy, I'm just not very organized. My house is always picked up, but dressers, closets, and drawers are not well thought out. My pantry is a free for all. And the fridge too.
Now that I work from home, I need to be organized. I've used the "no room" excuse since moving into this apartment. But we move into our house this week. I have NO excuse now. I have plenty of space in this new house to be organized.
Things I also hope for in 2012:
Another BAMA BCS championship! (TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!)
Find more girlfriends.
Savor every moment with my child. (This is the easiest!)
Find a babysitter so Tom and I can maybe go to the movies!!!!!
Happy 2012. I think this will be a great year!

Good luck tonight! What kind of football fan does it make me if I have to flip over to the ridiculous guilty pleasure of The Bachelor during commercials?
I bet with all the extra space, the organization will come easy. BTW, right there with you on drawers, closets, etc. I surrender. I'm just not good at it.
Last, I look forward to getting this baby here and focusing on me again, as well. It's been a tough year (2011) being pregnant with a move!
As an organizational FREAK, I don't use a lot of baskets and bins that are fancy and matching to leave out in the open. When dealing with your closet, drawers, etc., the key is to group like things together: pastas, boxed cereal, cans by veggies, soup, etc. or short sleeved tees, sweaters, pajama bottoms.
If you are not already all packed, it will be easier if you sort things a bit as you pack them, so set up several boxes in front of your dresser, and sort your drawers as you unload them. Same with the kitchen stuff: set up several boxes and box similar items together. That way, as you are unpacking, similar items are already grouped, so you can arrange them in your new cabinets and closets as they fit, by type of item.
This will help a lot with finding things as you need them, but also stop a lot of over-buying things that you think you need but already have, because you will have a better idea of what you have on hand, whether it is canned milk or nude undies.
A little confession: I love shoes, and so many come in cute pattered or colorful shoe boxes. I use them all over the place to arrange small items. Under the bathroom sink to hold travel sized toiletries, on a closet shelf to hold wallets, under the kitchen sink to hold cleaning rags and new sponges from the opened 6-pack. They are free with the shoes I am already buying, and work just as well in a covered space as the fancy bins and baskets all the magazines show.
I'm totally working up to a total organizing fest... Next weekend! I'm going to make a list of every nook and there will losses! You look great!!
